Frequently this activity is done as a free customer service. It can be as simple as connecting the customer to the right technology .. or technologists …in the manner of “Do you know where (or who) I can get XYZ"? Our long experience in the Israeli market gives us a wide range of industry connections, and we dispense of this knowledge freely to both our customers and our suppliers in Israel and abroad.

Other times Appletec itself becomes 'a part of the customers development team' by providing a value added service in the form of a finished product that is the end result of a combination of materials from our supplier base that have been further processed by additional sub contractors. The range of possible Appletec value added services is quite broad … from very simple to very complicated.

Specific examples of these value added services are the addition of customer specified optical connectors onto optical amplifiers, couplers and switches. The supply of custom designed coils and transformers, and custom designed optical wall mount enclosures.

In other cases if a customer is interested in adding wireless functionality to their product, we help ease the process by first offering a complete tested OEM solution, thus saving valuable engineering resources and decreasing the time to market. Later when the product has achieved market acceptance we supply the discrete wireless IC’s needed in order to greatly reduce the price of the added wireless functionality.

The most challenging of value added projects involve addressing formal tenders for complete sub systems by utilizing the expertise of several of our suppliers in coordination with an Appletec appointed project manager.

Sometimes our value added projects have caused unexpected positive results such as the successful spin-off of an altogether new company... LV Power from an initial in house design of a custom designed power supply.
